Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) Pvt Ltd has clocked a sale of 28 million two-wheelers since it started operations in the country. The success of the brand is attributed to its largest selling products such as the Honda Activa. Other than the hugely popular scooter, the other mass-selling bikes that have contributed to this sales mark include the Honda Liva, CB Shine and the CB Hornet.
With the growing demand for its products, HMSI has increased its manufacturing capacity at all its plants in India. Along with amping up production, Honda aims to increase its current 4,800-centre strong distribution network by an another 500 by the end of this fiscal year. This increase in network will target he setting up of new distribution outlets in both rural and semi-urban areas which reflect a growing market.
Six months into the market, the Honda Navi with its distinctive looks and trendy appeal has managed to captivate a good amount of fan following nationwide. With sales figures soaring to 50,000 units, the product has surely received an overwhelming response. Other than just its eye-catching design Honda has also added elements of practicality such as a high-quality storage box for enhanced mobility and convenience. However, this happens to be an optional accessory on the bike.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd has managed to set pace with an impressive growth rate of 24 per cent as compared to the 13 per cent of the entire two-wheeler industry in the first half of the fiscal 2016-2017. This commendable growth is attributed to its four manufacturing units namely in Haryana, Bangalore, Rajasthan and Gujarat which together produce a whopping 5.8 million units annually.
