The Baleno RS is here!
The Baleno has already sold over a lakh-and-a-half units in India since it was launched. To up the game even further, Maruti Suzuki has now brought in the Baleno RS! The car comes fitted with a 1.0 litre BoosterJet engine that makes 101 bhp and 150Nm of torque. It is a 3 cylinder direct injection engine and despite its performance genes, it is said to deliver a solid 21 kilometres to the litre! Reports have it that the RS is a blast to drive and we couldn’t be happier. Priced at 8.69 lakh ex-Delhi, the Baleno RS is arguably India’s first affordable hot hatch.
The Lamborghini Urus gets a 600 bhp engine
Supercar manufacturer Lamborghini has been planning an SUV for quite some time now. We know that it’s going to be called the Urus and now we have confirmation that the Urus will be powered by a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine that generates over 600 horsepower! It gets a dual clutch transmission and we have reason to believe that the vehicle has been tuned to be just as dynamic as any of the cars that they make. The Urus is a super SUV that we are really looking forward to driving one day.
A new Mahindra Thar on the anvil
Dr. Pawan Goenka, MD, Mahindra and Mahindra has confirmed that there is a new Thar in the works. We expect it to launch by the end of this year or early 2018. Dr. Goenka also stated that the Thar will most likely have design and engineering inputs from SsangYong and Pininfarina as well. While we don’t know how the Thar will eventually turn out, we do hope it doesn’t turn out like this!
New Honda Activa 4G
The new Honda Activa 4G has received some minor tweaks to lend it a refreshed look over its predecessor. In terms of features, the highlight has to be the mobile charging socket that it now comes with. Apart from that the Activa retains the combi-brake technology and the tried and tested 109cc engine which is now BS-IV compliant. Priced at Rs 50, 730, the Activa remains a great deal and we are sure that it will continue to dominate the scooter segment in the country.
Renault Design Academy
Six lucky students have been selected for a six month internship at Renault India’s design studio where they will be given training on different aspects of conceptualizing a car. These students were selected out of 400 students that registered for the Renault Design Academy and in the final round; two will be offered jobs with Renault Design. For them, this is obviously a chance of a lifetime!
