Suzuki V-Strom SX to take on 250cc adventure tourer segment

Posted on by

With the launch of the V-Strom SX, Suzuki has finally stepped into the 250cc sports adventure tourer segment. As a product, the V-Strom SX takes styling cues from the larger V-Strom series of adventure bikes. Key design highlights include the LED octagonal shaped headlights, LED taillights, a slim body design and an upright riding position like all adventure bikes offer.

Powering the new bike is a 250cc motor that uses an oil-cooling system and is touted to be extremely reliable. The engine feels strong and linear, offering excellent torque at low rpm and a smooth run up, making it easy to use for beginners as well as for veteran riders. The sports adventure tourer adopted analytic technology from MotoGP that was used to develop the valves, shim type roller rocker arms, retainers and piston to reduce the weight. V-Strom SX’s piston contributes to increased output and better fuel efficiency.

The bike is touted to be rather easy to ride, extremely capable off-road and quite nimble to use in city surroundings. To keep with the times, Suzuki has kitted the bike out with an easy start system, ride connect, a USB port outlet as well as a Bluetooth enabled digital console that features turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call and message alerts and you also get a speed warning and phone battery status on this cluster.

No doubt, the Sports Adventure category is heating up in India, and with more manufacturers jumping on the bandwagon, the customer is surely spoiled for choice. With the V-Strom SX, what you do get is a reliable machine that delivers on all counts and has been priced well.
