Ducati India has launched the all new Monster 821 in India and it is a bike that according to the company pays homage to the legacy of the Monster 900 which revolutionized the motorcycle world over 25 years ago. It is a bike that has the essence of a naked sport and it also gets numerous features that have been borrowed from the larger Monster 1200. According to Ducati, the new Monster 821 is the perfect amalgamation of style, sophistication and performance.

Ducati Monster 821 boasts of being an ‘everyday’ ride
The all new Monster 821 boasts of a more streamlined design which includes a fully redesigned tank and tail. There is an all-new exhaust and headlight which lends a classic touch to the details. The bike gets a colour TFT display which shows the current gear, fuel level and indicator. The new Monster 821 will be available in the classic yellow as well as in black and red schemes as well.
Powering the Ducati Monster 821 is the liquid cooled Testastretta engine that delivers 109 hp of maximum power and 86 Nm of torque. The engine is touted to offer a linear torque curve that makes it ideal for both city as well as touring usage. After all, Ducati is marketing this bike as an ‘everyday’ ride!
The bike also gets the Ducati Safety Pack which includes the Bosch 9.1MP ABS system and traction control. Both systems have adjustable intervention levels and in that same vein of thought, Ducati has fitted the bike out with the option to control maximum power and throttle response via the Power Modes. This gives the rider the freedom to set up the bike to suit their riding needs.
The new Ducati Monster 821 comes complete with Brembo brakes, with dual 320 mm discs and M4-32 monobloc radial calipers up front. It gets a 43 mm fork at the front and a rear monoshock with spring preload adjustment. Topping off the package is the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III 120/70 tyre on the front and 180/55 on the rear. If you intend on going racing and want faster shifts, Ducati is also offering the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) as an optional extra as this electronic system allows the rider to shift gears without the use of the clutch.
